Who handles your information

Rippon Studio is a sole-trader business responsible for personal information collected through this website and in providing our services. Contact us about privacy at rafael@ripponstudio.co.uk.

Information we collect

• Contact and enquiry details, including your name, business name, email address, phone number and messages.
• Booking details, meeting times and information about your project.
• Client brief information such as postcode, domain preferences, business description, design preferences and files you submit.
• Reviews, ratings, referral information and communications with us.
• Agreement, billing and payment-status records. Card details are handled by our payment provider, not collected by our own forms.
• Website visit information, including visited pages, a random session identifier, referring pages and browser information.

We may also obtain business contact details from publicly available business listings or information supplied by a referrer. Please only upload personal information and materials you are entitled to share.

Why we use it and our legal bases

We use enquiry, booking and project information to respond to you, take steps at your request before entering a contract, and deliver agreed services. We keep records needed for legal obligations such as accounting.

We rely on legitimate interests where appropriate for managing business relationships, keeping our services secure and handling relevant business communications, after considering your rights. Where consent is required, including certain marketing or uses of testimonials, we must obtain it; you can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can ask us to stop direct marketing at any time.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers to host the website, store client files, deliver emails and support bookings. Depending on the service you use, these include Lovable Cloud, Google Calendar and Google Meet, Stripe for payments, and SignWell for electronic signatures. Providers only receive information relevant to their role.

Reviews, testimonials and project examples intended for public display can contain your name, business name and feedback. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect legal rights.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires it, international transfers must be covered by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual protections. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including managing client relationships and meeting applicable accounting or legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the circumstances. Contact us to request deletion or ask about a particular record.

We use restricted access and other technical measures to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Client-specific links should only be shared with their intended recipients.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to certain uses, and withdraw consent. Email rafael@ripponstudio.co.uk to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and normally respond within one month, subject to legal exceptions.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to contact us first, but we welcome the opportunity to resolve concerns.
